More than 80% of businesses fail in the first 5 years, a large part of this failure is attributed to lack of planning - never was a more accurate saying than Alan Lakein's "failing to plan is planning to fail".

SWOT analyses are often bandied around the office as though they provide all the answers to the business’ greatest dilemmas. In actual fact a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis is as good as useless unless compiled with a few basic principles in mind. Read full post
